This activity is done for my Year 2 students. This activity required the students (in groups) to pass a message that they got from the first person by using 'a pair of radio cup' until the last person got the message. In Malay, we called this game as Radio Rosak.
The rule is the first person who obtained the strip paper (which contain the message) cannot leaked the message to the other members in any way except through the 'radio cup' given. In simple words, the only person who knew the message is the first person. While the message is passed, the words might changed and ended up with nothing. To ensure the students able to pass the message correctly, please use simple words. At least, they were able to say out one or two words correctly.
The sample of 'radio cups' is in the photo below :
What do you need ?
- Paper cups (based on your number of students - make it pairs)
- String (or white rope)
- Strip of papers (for the messages)
How to do it?
- Make a small hole at the end of the paper cups
- Tie string and put it into the hole. (make sure it does not come out)
- Try to whisper towards your friends first to make sure it works (kidding! it really works anyway!)
Besides Listening and Speaking, you can use this activity for Language Arts and so on. Thanks for reading! :)
