LA 35 : Slip Finger Puppets

Skill : Language Arts
Year : One
Topic : Pet Show

Assalamualaikum and Hi!

Yesterday, we had fun just by listening to the audio of a song from the Superminds textbook (page 36). The song was pretty catchy and quite to circus type of thing! Just listening to it made my pupils laughed a lot and none wanted to sing it. Then, we recall the names of animals with some actions.

After that, I showed them samples of slip finger puppets that I've made. They were then aware of it and were more excited to make it! So, let's see the template below :

Lastly, look at my pupils who were quite and so busy dealing with their slip finger puppets!

That's all. Thanks for reading! :)

Writing 16 : Do and Write (Animals' Movements)

Skill : Writing
Year : One
Topic : Pet Show

Assalamualaikum and Hi!

Today, we had fun and tiring day (for me) since we moved a lot! I decided to conduct the lesson at the assembly hall as I need bigger space to ask pupils to do some animals' movements.

Firstly, we learnt and discussed about animals' movements and animals related to each type of movement. Then, we stretched a bit (warm-up) before started to make animals' movements according to each station. I prepared a simple picture cards as below and pasted it on the poles. Then, I divided the pupils into four rows, one row for each station. They take turn in doing the animals' movements and continued until each station had been visited well.

The picture cards and worksheet are as follows :

Let's take a look of our day today!

After we had fun with moving around, we continued with answering worksheet. This worksheet needed them to identify and write the names of animals in particular categories. Glad that they did pretty well. Anyway, I had some errors for today's worksheet but I've corrected it for the uploaded one at the beginning of this post.

That's all for today, thanks for reading! :)

Reading 18 : Posters on The Wall

Skill : Reading / Writing
Year : One
Topic : Pet Show

Assalamualaikum and Hi!

I am soooo excited in this lesson as I got the chances to recall the old time memories of watching all sorts of cartoons! This activity is pretty similar to Writing on the Wall activity, where the pupils need to refer to information on the whiteboard to answer the questions.

First of all, we started with showing the posters of animation movies, and made some discussions, about the animals on it, about their opinions of what the stories are about. Then, I pasted the posters on the whiteboard, give them questions, and asked them to fill in the blanks with the red words.

I've provided the posters, worksheet and the simple texts below :

You can edit or change the questions that related to the posters. I only needed them to read and later write the answer by fill in the blanks. That's all. Let's take a look at my pupils!

Yeah! That's all! Thanks for reading! :)
