L & S 24 : Bingo Pets

Assalamualaikum and Hi!

As we all know, bingo is a pretty common activity to listening and speaking. In this lesson, I modified it a bit.

STEPS TO PLAY BINGO PETS :

1. Each pupil (take turn) need to say out the animals (with teacher's guidance of course). 

2. The other pupils need to just listen and cross the animals said. 

3. For those who cannot say out the names of animals, they are considered as disqualified. 

4. Colour the animals.

5. Write about "I like ....." and "I don't like...."

Instead of asking them to write the names in each box randomly, I prepared the template to make it easier for them.

L & S 23 : Animal Shadow Puppets and Imaginary Zoos

Topic : Pet Show (Superminds page 34)

Assalamualaikum and Hi!

Today, we did an activity based on the new topic : Pet Show. First, we chant the lyrics in page 34 using the tune of the song Itsy Bitsy Spider. We did the actions of each animal and had fun doing it. After that, I taught them some animal characters that can be done using shadows. Here's some of it :

 

After that, I asked them to imagine a situation, where they are rich enough to open a zoo in Semporna, since Semporna has no zoo at all. so all they can imagine is to have a place to keep all animals that they like. So, here's their zoos! 

So, we ended the lesson by recalling the names of animals through the chant. That's all. Thanks for reading! :)

L&S 21 : What’s In Our Bag?

Assalamualaikum and Hi! In this lesson, I let them to do this work in groups. So, this is another challenge for them to really cooperate with each other. 

Basically, we played I Say, You Show. Pupils prepare their stationery. I will say phrases such as Show me your ruler! Then, the pupils will raise their stuff. As simple as that. 

As usual, I’ll provide the pictures of stationery below : 

Next, I distributed them in groups, gave materials (mahjong paper and pictures of stationeries). Pupils need to draw a bag, and paste all the given pictures on that ‘bag’. Then, as they pasted it, their friends spelled the names of stationeries and the other pupil wrote it down. They got the chance to decorate their own ‘bags’ too! Let’s check their works!
