As we all know, bingo is a pretty common activity to listening and speaking. In this lesson, I modified it a bit.

STEPS TO PLAY BINGO PETS :

1. Each pupil (take turn) need to say out the animals (with teacher's guidance of course). 

2. The other pupils need to just listen and cross the animals said. 

3. For those who cannot say out the names of animals, they are considered as disqualified. 

4. Colour the animals.

5. Write about "I like ....." and "I don't like...."

Instead of asking them to write the names in each box randomly, I prepared the template to make it easier for them.

My pupils are so in love with picture dictionaries! They can’t afford to buy one so I let them share our school’s picture dictionaries for this activity. First of all, I taught them about like and don’t like terms, make them used to it (know the meaning and how to use). Later, I distributed the picture dictionaries and asked them to look for the animals topic. They were so excited! After that, I gave them a simple exercise where they have to choose an animal that they like and they don’t like. Let’s look at their works!

LA 33 : Blow Paint Animals

Assalamualaikum and Hi!

Today, we had another fun language arts lesson but its pretty hard for my pupils to do it. So basically, what we did was using blow paint technique to draw animals! All you need are paper (I let them used their exercise books), water colour, brushes straw, and water. First of all, you need to put the colour in the pallete given and mix it with some water. Then, using brush, drop some of the water colour to your paper, and using straw, just blow the water colour and make it shaped some kind of animals that you can make. Easy? Nope of course. Its pretty hard I tell you but still my pupils had fun with making their imaginary animals based on their drawings. See the photos below and you'll know why.

L & S 23 : Animal Shadow Puppets and Imaginary Zoos

Assalamualaikum and Hi!

Today, we did an activity based on the new topic : Pet Show. First, we chant the lyrics in page 34 using the tune of the song Itsy Bitsy Spider. We did the actions of each animal and had fun doing it. After that, I taught them some animal characters that can be done using shadows. Here's some of it :

 

After that, I asked them to imagine a situation, where they are rich enough to open a zoo in Semporna, since Semporna has no zoo at all. so all they can imagine is to have a place to keep all animals that they like. So, here's their zoos!
