LA 17 : Mobile Paper Butterflies

Topik : Membuat Mobail Haiwan Bersayap

Entri ini ditulis dalam Bahasa Melayu sebab ini untuk subjek Pendidikan Seni. Walaupun boleh digunakan untuk subjek Bahasa Inggeris. Ini adalah pertama kali aku kena ajar subjek Pendidikan Seni. Bila rujuk RPT dari internet, minggu lepas kena buat Mobail Haiwan Bersayap. Mula - mula tak tau la apa tu mobail, Ingatkan benda berkaitan dengan kereta. Hahaha!

Ok. Mobail tu benda yang bergantung, apa - apa bahan seni yang bergantung (betulkan jika salah, sebab aku main google je benda ni). Jadi, untuk melaksanakan 1 jam pelajaran ini, aku buat keputusan untuk membuat Rama - rama kertas yang boleh digunapakai untuk hias pentas sekolah kalau ada majlis - majlis.

Bahan - bahan yang diperlukan :

  • Kertas warna A4 / kertas origami / kad manila (*saiz kertas menentukan saiz rama - rama ye. Kertas biasanya ditaja oleh guru Seni kalau murid - murid tak bawak bahan)
  • Gunting (kalau takde, guna pembaris pun boleh)
  • Gam (optional)
  • Tali / Benang (sebab mobail kan, mesti ada tali atau benang la, pun ditaja oleh guru Seni sendiri)

Cara - cara nak buat :

*ketahuilah bahawa aku cuma menonton video dari YouTube ini dan membuat dua sampel rama - rama untuk murid - murid. So, sila klik video di bawah ye. Sesi ni dimulakan dengan mengajar murid - murid cara - cara melipat kertas ini dengan betul. Kesabaran amat diperlukan bagi membenarkan murid - murid berjaya membuat satu rama - rama dengan tepat. Selepas itu, aku cuma perlu membantu mengikat rama - rama yang mereka buat.

L & S 14 : Pretend Play at the Airport

This lesson is the continuation of learning numbers from twenty-one to thirty. Since I have teach them about the numbers, doing a pretend play related to it makes them remember better. Besides pretend play at the bus stand (where they are more familiar to it), I decided to change it to an airport situation. Yes, they asked a lot while they are 'on the plane'.

I started by distributed blank template of boarding pass which is as below :


This template is taken from HERE because I was too lazy and tired to design one. For a complete set of airline pretend play, you can refer these websites :



Then, instead of providing them with complete and printed version of boarding passes, I provided them with my own samples of two boarding passes from Air Asia and Malaysia Airlines for them to copy and draw it themselves.


These boarding passes have been ripped off by the 'person-in-charge'



How do I chose the pupils and specific characters?

Simple. Those who lost their own boarding passes (I gave them to complete these templates a day before) are chosen to be the person-in-charge of the check-in counter, become the departure gates, the person-in-charge to check and ripped off the boarding passes. Meanwhile, those who have their boarding passes definitely become the passengers of the flight.

So, I demonstrated each role and provided them with scripts especially those at the check-in counter. Surprisingly, they did very well which I was quite amazed with their hidden talents in playing the roles. I can also see that some of the pupils deserved to be in such kind of works when they grew up later on. At first, they were confused since there were so many departure gate labels that I have prepared (21 until 30). I told them, at KLIA2, we have about 22 gates since in Tawau we're only have 4 gates. I explained and told them about how big the KLIA and KLIA2 is as compared to the Tawau Airport.

So, after the entered the gate, they entered the plane. I became the captain of the flight, making usual flight announcement. So, in the flight, the pupils asked so many things that they were curious of. For example :

Pupil A : "Teacher, ada tandas ka di kapal terbang?"
Teacher : "Yes, of course. But, small one only. Like the size of that cupboard."

Suddenly, pupil asked permission to go to the toilet. So, I let them. But, they purposely went to 'that plane's toilet' at the cupboard. Hahaha. Then, I told them, "you don't have to ask permission to go to the toilet when you are on a plane!" Simply go when the seat belt sign is turned off. 

They asked about tv, food, drinks, price tickets, how to call the stewardess when you need something. So, to me, this activity brings a lot of new experiences and exposure towards the airport situations. I can see that these kids have the flare and ambitions to do well in their life and they need to realise that education is the main key.

 *Check-in counter. The pupils carried their own bags for checked in. 












There were cases were the passengers (pupils) forgot their gates. I said, simply asked the counter because they will tell you the gates for departure. It was a really fun activity to end our day yesterday. Thanks for reading! :)

LA 16 : Paper Cactus

This activity is done few months back but I forgot to post it here. I thought I did but I haven't. So, here we go. The paper cactus activity was taken and inspired by THEARTDREAM. I found out about this activity through a Facebook page : EASY PEASY AND FUN.


The paper cactus looks something like this :


So, basically, I showed the pupils these paper cactus. I provided them with the templates, scissors and glue. They just need to colour the template, cut it and shape it. Please check the link below to download the templates :

I've also took some photos of my pupils during this sessions. Yes, they cannot finished it well due to the time constraint. But they enjoyed trying to complete part of it. :)
