Reading 11 : Read and Memorise

Skill : Reading / Writing
Year : 2
Lesson : At the House (Superminds)

Assalamualaikum and Hi!

I'd like to share another simple activity that we've done this week. Its a very simple reading activity, where all you need is picture cards. This picture cards below was bought during a book sale (not sure either MPH or Popular sale) somewhere in Peninsular, costed only RM 10.00 after the promotion if I'm not mistaken (OP is RM 20.00). Honestly. I was thinking to buy it for my youngest cousin but yeah, I decided just to keep it in case it will be used in my lessons. By that time, Superminds was not even introduced yet. So, yeah, finally it's being used. At the back of the picture cards, there some questions related to the picture cards such as "What is the colour of the couch?" and so on.

After that, we read the picture cards together, and I keep flashing these cards to the pupils several times. We played sight reading game where I hurriedly flash the cards and they need to read it quickly. Then, I started to tell them what are we going to do. Pupils need to recall and draw three pictures that they could remember from the input given previously. That's all. For pupils with low and intermediate level of language proficiency, you can asked them to draw one or two pictures only. Its up to you, teachers!

So, here's some of the outcomes of the lesson :

No worries, I've corrected the misspellings, okay? :)

Since the pupils are getting pretty 'lost' after a long holiday (due to the GE14), I just prepared simple activity like this. Just to add more simple input to them. Plus, I need more spirits in dealing when a new day of working after that long holidays!

That's all. Thanks for reading!
